Soap Crafters
Sue, the one behind the company, has been making soaps for more than 15 years and sold them in her beauty salon, Creative Trends Hair Design, on a small scale. She always had great success with the soaps, but after selling the salon and retiring, she quit making it other than for her own household use. It has since been just a hobby.
Many of Sue's ex hair clients mentioned how they missed the soaps and wondered if she still made them. Well... that interest sparked the desire to start it up again.... A hobby gone full blown business! Only this time Gary, Sue's husband, got involved and has been enjoying making the wooden molds, soaps, and mixing lotions and butters. He makes all the labeling for packaging, signs and posters, and has become an expert on the ingredients and what they do for your skin. Not to mention that he built this beautiful website! Sue and Gary make a great team and enjoy working together. Thus, Deep Creek Soap Crafters was born! The name 'Deep Creek' comes from where they live- 'Deep Creek Road'- a beautiful place outside of Vernal, Utah in the Uintah Mountains, part of the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
Deep Creek Soap Crafters started selling only soaps at local farmer's markets and various craft fairs and found that people loved the product. They said the soaps helped their skin so much and they loved the fragrance oils that are used. The company has had several repeat customers asking if it might consider making lotions to match the soaps, so.... they decided... why not? From there Shea Butter Lotions and Mango Body Butters were added to the product line. Then facial cleansers, moisturizers, nite oils (which have been a huge hit!), shave soaps and aftershave moisturizers for men. Additional products are sure to follow!
So far it has been a great success, as the products are wonderful and customers love them! The company looks forward to selling at the various craft fairs in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming. Internet sales have really taken off, too! They now have sales reps located near Salt Lake City, Utah and in Ojai, California. Jaimie and Kim will be selling product at various Farmer's Markets, Craft Fairs and Boutiques in their respective areas. Watch the Calender page for the details!
Deep Creek Soap Crafters takes pride in using all natural ingredients, oils, fragrance oils and essential oils, and hand crafting everything it sells.
